In preparation for the 2021 SMART international conference, to be held at the UvA, SMART-related activities this year will consist in a series of three to four one-day (interdisciplinary) workshops in the domain of Cognition. Each workshop will receive an amount of €2500 to cover the costs of two or more invited speakers as well as other practical expenses (e.g., refreshments and drinks during coffee breaks).
Every researcher affiliated to the research schools of the Faculty of Humanities at the University of Amsterdam can submit a workshop proposal. We invite proposals in all areas of the humanities and cognitive science but cross-disciplinary and innovative topics are particularly encouraged.
Deadline for submissions: December 31st 2019.
Acceptance notice: January 15th 2020.
Proposals should include:
* Workshop title
* Planned date and location within the UvA
* Details of the organizers (e.g., affiliation, position, research interest)
* 1 page (max) summary and justification for the workshop, including a list of prospected invited speakers, provisional budget, and expected number of participants.
Proposals should be sent in a pdf format to the following email address: SMART Cognitive Science <email@example.com>
The SMART conference Committee will evaluate the proposals with respect to their theme and potential interests to the SMART community. If a workshop proposal is accepted, the SMART organizing committee will work closely with workshop organizers to make sure that the dates fall in a general SMART-workshop agenda involving other planned workshops.
